Ghana Industry: Leading Steel Manufacturer B5 Plus Limited Wins Two Prestigious Awards

Once again, B5 Plus Limited is being recognized as a leader in the steel industry in Ghana and West Africa. The company won two more prestigious awards in May 2021: “Outstanding Steel Manufacturing Company of the Year” and “Investment Company of the Year”.

The 2021 edition of the prestigious Ghana West Africa Business Excellence Awards (GWABEA) has been held on 21st May 2021 at the Movenpick Ambassador hotel, with B5 Plus Limited winning the “Outstanding Steel Manufacturing Company of the Year”. GWABEA is a rebrand from the prestigious West Africa Business Excellence Awards and is endorsed by West Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Strategic Accountancy Africa. The Awards provide a platform to recognize individuals and companies that create a friendly atmosphere to welcome investors and/or play a significant role in the development of various sectors in Ghana and West Africa at large. The Awards recognize excellence in industries, sectors and individual/personality excellence. As the leading steel manufacturing company in West Africa, B5 Plus Limited beat off the competition to win the enviable award as the best steel manufacturing company within the West African region.

Furthermore, B5 Plus Limited has been named “Investment Company of the Year” at the West Africa Regional Magazine Awards (TWARM). The awards night was held at the Volta Serene Hotel in the Volta regional capital, and brought together leading organizations from the manufacturing, real estate, digital and electronic, hotel and tourism sectors, among others. TWARM Achievers, Business and Leadership Awards celebrate individuals and organisations for their achievements and excellence in various sectors and are presented to individuals and corporations in the business and political arena who have stood out in excellence in their various fields of endeavour. B5 Plus Limited has been recognized for its immense contribution to the steel sector in Ghana and West Africa, through its investment in a multi-million dollar steel factory in the Ningo Prampram District in the Greater Accra Region. The factory built on a 400-acre land with local materials, will create 10,000 direct and indirect jobs, saving Ghana about $100 million in foreign exchange on importation of iron rods and steel products.
