COVID-19: B5 Plus Limited is Offering Free Medical Oxygen Refilling to Hospitals in Ghana

B5 Plus Limited, the leading steel manufacturing company in Ghana, has given relief to the COVID-19 fight by offering free medical oxygen refilling to all government and private hospitals in the country. Its Founder and Chairman, Mukesh V. Thakwani, fondly known as Mr. Mike, who announced the package, said B5 Plus Limited, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to support the needy, decided to invest in the free oxygen refilling initiative, considering how crucial the fight against COVID-19 has become. He observed that the new wave of the virus which has seen a rise in the mortality rate, required more efforts towards saving lives.

“As a good corporate citizen who cares about Ghana, we deem it fit to support the country with oxygen which is greatly needed in the emergency Intensive Care Units (ICU)”, he said. Besides, the free oxygen supply, which commenced in March 2020, will continue until COVID-19 is no more. Mr Mukesh Thakwani appealed to the government to step up efforts to combat COVID-19 by ensuring strict enforcement of all safety protocols outlined in order to ensure economic activities are done in a safe manner.

Meanwhile, George Dawson Amoah, the Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries, the leading voice of manufacturing industries in the country, has commended the initiative of B5 Plus Limited and urged all other companies to emulate the gesture. AGI is a voluntary business association of over 1200 members, made up of small, medium and large scale manufacturing and services industries in agro-processing, agri-business, pharmaceuticals, electronics and electrical, telecommunications, information technology, utilities, service industries, transport, construction, textiles, garments and leather, banking and advertising.
