B5 Plus and DPS International Extend Full Scholarships to Children of Helicopter Crash Victims

B5 Plus Group, together with DPS International School, have unveiled a full scholarship initiative for the children of the eight Ghanaians who tragically died in the recent helicopter crash.

At a ceremony held at the Office of the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah accepted the initiative on behalf of the Presidency. He described it as a powerful example of how the private sector can contribute to nation-building through responsibility and compassion.

The scholarship will fully cover two children from each grieving family. The beneficiaries will attend DPS International School in Tema — one of Ghana’s foremost educational institutions, from basic school all the way through to the A-Level. The coverage includes tuition, uniforms, and, where needed, boarding.

Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew, Presidential Advisor on Legal Affairs and former Attorney-General, praised the initiative. She emphasised its profound impact on investing in the futures of these children. She also lauded DPS for its history of nurturing exceptional graduates — including Oheneba Kwame Kyeretwie, the son of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is now studying Astronomy at Wesleyan University in the U.S.

Marietta noted that this initiative aligns beautifully with the government’s vision of free, high-quality education for all, and she is confident it will be warmly welcomed by the President.
