Faisal Ali Al-Mutawa, Chairman and Managing Director of Bayan Investment Company argues that the government is in control of most of the assets in the country like real estate – the government owns more than 90% of the land in Kuwait, some say even up to 93%. Kuwaiti government owns almost all the oil and related services – production, distribution, refining, and marketing. Thus, there are no real investment opportunities in Kuwait’s most vibrant sector – oil sector.
