“Although I have been familiar with the institution for almost seven years, I did just arrive, so I am focusing on listening to ideas that people have and responding to suggestions that people are making,” says Dr. Earl (Tim) Sullivan, President of the American University of Kuwait (AUK)
“For many years, higher education here was dominated by Kuwait University, which is a large public institution. Only a few years ago, it was decided to add options for private universities that would offer different kinds of programs. The approach to education in Kuwait has generally been one with aim at the job market,” says Dr. Earl (Tim) Sullivan, President of the American University of Kuwait (AUK)
“We now have three centres in the college that encourage and support innovation. The first is the Project Based Learning (PBL) Centre. Its goal is to propagate learning through projects namely, experiential learning. The workshop is the starting point,” says Abdullah Al Sharhan, Chairman of Australian College of Kuwait (ACK).
“I myself believe that the future is for people who have knowledge, skills, and the right attitude toward the workplace. If ACK can produce this kind of individual, we will be helping not only the young people who are coming to the college, but the country as well,” says Abdullah Al Sharhan, Chairman of Australian College of Kuwait (ACK).
