Tilisi is 400 acre mixed-use master development located about 30 kilometers from Nairobi CBD and nearby Limuru town. Tilisi develops world class infrastructure and provides accessibility and facilities in terms of tarmac roads, power, water, sewer and ICT connections so that developers of commercial, residential and logistics buildings can buy land in Tilisi and can focus on delivering their vision without having to worry about putting up costly infrastructure and obtain bureaucratic approvals.
In 2019, developments within Tilisi have progressed well. Africa Logistics Properties who are the first buyers in Tilisi Logistics Park commenced Phase I of their 49 acre project in June 2019. Their first warehouses will be operational before the end of 2020. Other smaller buyers who have purchased land are following suit. Furthermore, Tilisi has attracted experienced residential developers. Chigwell Holdings Limited have purchased 47 acres to develop 400 townhouses and, Maisha Housing Limited who bought 10 acres to develop 800 apartments aimed at the affordable market segment. They both plan or starting construction in 2020. In total, Tilisi has sold a third of its land and well on its way to becoming an operational city.
Furthermore, Tilisi has begun Phase I of construction of the first housing project within Tilisi called Tilisi Views.
Tilisi Views aims to offer consumers something different to what is being offered in the more established residential zones in Nairobi such as Kilimani, Westlands and Lavington. They are reversing the trend towards high density properties with the 186-home Tilisi Views residential estate offering home-owners spacious green gardens on half of each plot, tree-lined streets, an exclusive clubhouse, extra play areas in every cluster of 15 to 30 villas, and additional acres of communal recreational space.
“Delivering a better quality of life at Tilisi has seen us concentrate on creating a green and natural environment, as something we can do from our positioning that literally isn’t possible in Kilimani, or Westlands, or even very much in Gigiri, nowadays. But it creates an entirely different kind of life for our future residents,” said Ranee Nanji, joint CEO of Tilisi.
Tilisi Views garnered a very positive response at the recent 29th Kenya Homes Expo and hope to have a successful open day next weekend. The Tilisi Views project will be supported by the construction of Phase II of infrastructure which will begin in November 2019 and will open the residential and commercial zones in Tilisi.
