Alghanim family: one of the oldest and most powerful families in Kuwait

Fouad M.T. Alghanim, Chairman and CEO of Fouad Alghanim and Sons Group talks about Al Ghanim family, one of the oldest and most powerful families in Kuwait.

He says, “The Alghanim family is probably one of the oldest families here. We and the Al Sabah family emigrated here more than 300 years ago, from Central Arabia. We have a very close relationship with the royal family, we are intermarried with them. We are cousins to each other. Kuwait is a small society, we are all connected by intermarriage. We are all cousins to each other. The important thing is, in the past the families had been very close, more like one family.”
