SpenoMatic Group: Leading Provider of Technologies in the Utilities of Factories in Kenya

Based in Nairobi, SpenoMatic Group is a leading actor in the industrial sector in Kenya, with operations all around the continent, mainly East, Central and Southern Africa. Its goal is to provide comprehensive and single window solutions to its customers, by bringing the world’s latest and most efficient technologies to their doorstep and, in turn, help them reduce their energy consumption and operating costs.

Accessing the latest technologies from all kinds of places (from Finland to Germany, France, India, Singapore, etc.), SpenoMatic Group provides a wide range of equipment to the industrial sector at large, such as boilers, heaters, water treatment plants, effluent treatment plants, etc. The Group also fully supports customers with a team of after-sales engineers who provide technical services, spares, chemical consumables and training.

While helping the sector, SpenoMatic also has a role in helping the nation and the future generations by providing energy efficient technologies, enabling their clients to save energy and protect the environment. For example, SpenoMatic’s specialized effluent treatment plants not only meet NEMA (National Environment Management Authority) standards, but could be zero liquid discharge or produce gas to be used as an energy source. Another sector which SpenoMatic Group has now started pushing intensively is the roof top solar sector for producing power for factories. The Group already has a host of factories which have gone ahead with them putting up solar power plants. As such, their energy usage is now 70% to 100% covered by solar usage during the day. Besides, SpenoMatic was one of the first actors to introduce biomass-fired boilers with coffee and rice husks to replace the traditional oil-fired boilers, and the Group is currently in the process of commissioning the world’s first sisal waste fired power plant.

Recently, SpenoMatic has set up the first complete factory with remote monitoring and analytics in Nairobi, enabling its client to save 15% of energy and labor costs through complete IoT (Internet of Things) within the factory. The Group is once again leading the way as, in a few years from now, all of Africa will be on remote monitoring and analytics according to late studies.

In a recent interview, Berjeesh Surty, Chairman and Managing Director of SpenoMatic Group, reiterated his vision to empower Africa by continuously bringing top-end technologies and help disseminate them into the continent, enabling structures to bring their cost down and preserve the environment.
