Major challenge for education sector in Kuwait

Abdullatif A. Al-Bader, President of Kuwait University talks about the major challenge for the education sector in Kuwait.

He says, “It’s a problem and it’s a problem not only in Kuwait but everywhere. It’s a problem in Kuwait specifically because everybody wants to go to university and in the West, not everybody goes to university. In Kuwait everybody goes to university and plumbers and all the others come from somewhere else. This is a problem that Kuwait faces.”

“We’re tackling this problem by introducing new areas. For instance, Kuwait doesn’t have a school of public health. We’ve started it and within a year it’s going to start admitting students. We’re already now introducing a knowledgeable workforce into the country which can benefit the healthcare system in Kuwait,” he adds.
