Future of Kuwait Foreign Relations

Kuwait ruling family Al-Sabah has always said that all governments in the Gulf region should work for stability in the Persian Gulf. His Highness Sheikh Al-Sabah has no interest in any movement that might destabilize the gulf. However, Kuwait foreign relations with Iran remain complex, but have improved despite a number of unanswered questions.

According to Capital Standards,”Kuwait has the largest number of holding companies listed on the local stock exchange amongst the GCC stock exchanges. This can be mainly attributed to the size of the KSE (largest in terms of listed companies) and the prominence of the investment activities in Kuwait. At the end of October 2011, the number of Kuwaiti holding companies increased to 40, in comparison to 38 listed companies at the end of September 2009.”

Both must ultimately achieve the Kuwait offset Program Goals, stated earlier (transfer of technology, job creation, and training opportunities for Kuwaitis).

Interview with  Abdulwahab Al Bader. The Kuwait Fund is hoping to present to our board our latest strategies for 2010 and Kuwait Fund is hoping to continue with its current trends and possibly increase Kuwait Fund’s lending opportunities.  Kuwait Fund has several recommendations to make and the Kuwait Fund would like to continue working with other Arab countries, Africa, and Asia while trying to strengthen our relations with them.  Additionally, I would like to see us continue with social and health related projects.

The weak macroeconomic environment impacted Global Investment House operations negatively and in 2008 Global Investment House recorded our first loss in the company’s history. We are now working to deleverage the company, while maintaining our clients’ trust.  Global Investment House has revised its strategy to focus on our asset management, investment banking and brokerage activities and enhance our products and services.
