“We have a strategy to become different than others by acquiring new specialized services which support our business and strength in oil and gas. In 2015, HOT Engineering Co. set a new strategy to achieve sustainability and continuity in this field,” says Nawaf A. Al Sharhan, GM – Business Development & Tendering of HOT Engineering Co.
“In the construction and contracting field in Kuwait, the oil and gas sector is our biggest area. Currently, in terms of construction, we are working on a new refinery project that is supervised by Kuwait Integrated Petrochemical Industries Co. (a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation) and Gathering Centers Number 30 and 31 by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). The total cost of these projects is around 10 billion KD,” says Nawaf A. Al Sharhan, GM – Business Development & Tendering of HOT Engineering Co.
“Projects that are under execution with the private sector include a 300,000m2 commercial development in the south of Kuwait called the Al Kout project. This is a retail project connected to a hotel we had built a few years back called the Rotana Hotel, connected to another mall that we had built in early 2007,” says Elie N. Hani, Deputy CEO of Ahmadiah Contracting.
“We are known to work on fast track, design development projects. We started that process back in the 70s with one of the real estate companies called Salhia Real Estate. We did the Salhia Mall that is still considered to be the mall with a very large number of prime brands like Louis Vuitton and others,” says Elie N. Hani, Deputy CEO of Ahmadiah Contracting.
“Dahan is involved in interior fit out contracting. We execute many spaces such as restaurants, shops, boutiques, banks, and office spaces. We are purely executers and builders. We do not offer any kind of design services or business requirements for the retailers,” says Sameer Al Dahan, Managing Partner at Dahan General Trading & Contracting.
“Our target would be to secure more projects in the oil and gas sector because that’s our main ball game as well as securing more projects in infrastructure and expanding when it comes to maintenance contracts, which is of great interest to us.”
“We are undertaking the CFP Mina Al Ahmadi Package project valued at around 4 billion US dollars. We have a stake in this project, we were awarded the Package in April 2014 and this is our implication,” says Jad H. Mekkaoui, Business Development & Contracts Manager of Al-Kazemi Group.
“If you look at Kuwait and the market in general in the last 3 years you can distinguish three major projects that were tendered and awarded and that are in the execution phase,” explains Jad H. Mekkaoui, Business Development & Contracts Manager of Al-Kazemi Group.
“Our strategy for 2017 would be to pursue major scale projects in sectors of interest, so we are mainly looking at projects in the oil and gas sector, in the infrastructure sector but also in the maintenance and shutdown sector,” explains Jad H. Mekkaoui, Business Development & Contracts Manager of Al-Kazemi Group.
