Celso Eduardo Mazzetti

Could you tell us a little bit about Metal Ar?

Metal Ar was founded as a service provider in the area of equipment renting. We participated in the resolution of the problem and had no solution to offer. As soon as we became outsourcers, we started solving our clients’ problems; an outsourcer has to supply a solution. We are part of a productive process that is a result of good technology and costs reduction.

We are focused on growing within the realm of the clients we already have. We want to increase our participation with regard to our existing clients, and once we do, we want to attract more clients (in the next 2 to 3 years).

Which are Metal Ar’s biggest projects now?

We are focused on growing within the realm of the clients we already have. We want to increase our participation with regard to our existing clients, and once we do, we want to attract more clients (in the next 2 to 3 years).

Apart from our clients, there are also other mines and we do not operate with them. Our goal is to work on those mines. We want to increase our participation with regard to those clients and only then we can focus on attracting new clients, and maybe working with other materials, including iron ore, nickel, etc., and not just with the cement and fertilizer industries.

Is it correct to state you are working on 11 mines?

Metal Ar

11 mines that belong to some of our clients like, for example, Inter Cement, Vale, Votorantim, Anglo American, MG, etc. It is with these clients that we want to grow.

Which are Metal Ar’s biggest challenges?

Our biggest challenge is to be recognized as the biggest provider for the sector. We are investing 100% on that by buying high quality technology, by performing the quality control of the raw material we transport (within the range that the client wants). We invested in software (SmartMine) to offer some extra services to our clients.

What is Metal Ar’s growth strategy? Are you thinking about expanding within Brazil and perhaps outside?

To expand we need funds that we do not have. We are growing by around 15 to 20% each year and to grow more, we need investors to buy equipment. The investment would be needed for the company to access funds which are not easy to get from a bank.

In Brazil, there is still great potential to be explored, so our main interest is here. If our multinational clients asked for our services outside Brazil, right now it would not be feasible due to the company’s size. Maybe in 5 to 10 years we will be able to do it, if there is an investment.

What would be your message to investors that might be interested in investing in your company?

My best message would be: get to know our company, get to know the path we have taken, verify our balance sheet because that is the highest proof of credibility and trust. If there is trust, all doors are open.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

The most important thing in life is for you to build something and leave a legacy. What I am leaving as a legacy is a unity and not just many people working together. I would like to think back and say that I would do it all again. Continue reading…
