DPSI Stages Unity In Diversity Festival to Celebrate Ghana’s 67th Independence Anniversary

DPS International Ghana recently organized a festival named “Unity in Diversity” as part of the school’s activities to commemorate Ghana’s 67th Independence anniversary. This vibrant event celebrates the rich diversity of Ghanaian culture and ethnicity, highlighting the nation’s cultural heritage in honor of Ghana’s Independence Day.

Dignitaries, including the Chief Imam representing the Muslim community in Ghana and the Chief of Mlistakpo, along with notable celebrities like Stacey Amoateng, Selly Galley, Kobby Rana, Aunty Cecilia, Catel Big J, and many others, graced the festival. The event showcased a diverse array of activities encompassing traditional and modern Ghanaian arts, fashion, cuisine, music, and dance, as well as games and family-friendly activities.

According to officials, the primary objective was to provide students with an opportunity to learn about and appreciate Ghanaian cultural heritage. Some of the activities included captivating displays of traditional dances such as the Kpanlogo, Apatampa, and Agbadza. Additionally, a fashion show featured students showcasing African beads from “beadnbead” on the runway. Other highlights included skits and enactments, including a portrayal of Ghana’s independence declaration by the Big Six. The festival also featured performances by artists such as Praye Tietia and DopeNation, among others.
