Mechanical Services Contractor Trident Plumbers on Two Rivers Commercial Development in Nairobi
Mechanical services contractor Trident Plumbers Ltd gives an overview of the project carried out for the largest mall in Sub Saharan Africa: Two Rivers Commercial Development in Nairobi, Kenya. TPL undertook works that included sanitary, plumbing and drainage (P&D), firefighting installation and external water reticulation works.
Trident Plumbers Ltd (TPL) is an experienced, licensed and skilled mechanical services contractor that has been carrying out corporate and domestic mechanical service works for over 30 years in Kenya while servicing all major cities.
TPL has had the golden opportunity to work in a number of projects, but the company was caught by surprise when it was nominated as a sub-contractor to work on the largest mall in Sub Saharan Africa.
The mall was a well thought out plan of a premium world class address set within a controlled and secure place.
Two Rivers Commercial Development by Centum Investments is a prime 102-acre mixed use urban node that has become Kenya’s financial hub, business and residential district of choice. It is located at Ruaka along Limuru Road within the Diplomatic Blue Zone area of Gigiri/Runda in Nairobi, Kenya.
This commercial development integrates retail, entertainment and lifestyle facilities, hotels, healthcare and commercial facilities, luxury residential apartments and recreational and public amenities. These facilities are supported by state-of-the-art sustainable infrastructure which has been attracting both local and international investors.
Working in the capacity of a nominated sub-contractor in this project, Trident Plumbers Ltd undertook works that included sanitary, plumbing and drainage (P&D), firefighting installation and external water reticulation works. Its highly skilled technicians were equipped and put to the task to show their prowess. The plumber wrench and heat gun sound that echoed through the site area promised progress with each passing day.
For plumbing and drainage, the client opted for the HDPE pipe fittings which were butt-fusioned to ensure efficacy, while for sanitary TPL settled for Duravit which is well known for its rimless technology and artistic design. G1 pipes were used in the installation of the firefighting system in the mall, while for drainage and plumbing works, Trident Plumbers Ltd used Wavin and PPR pipes respectively.
The project began in 2015 and took approximately 2 and a half years to complete, thus ending early 2017. With much anticipation, the mall was opened to the public by the President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta in February 2017.
Other than the above mentioned mechanical services, Trident Plumbers Ltd offers air conditioning and mechanical ventilation services, as well as solar water heating and water treatment systems. This is in line with its certification from the National Construction Authority (NCA).
