Competition in Kuwait’s Banking Sector

The competition in Kuwait’s banking sector is likely to intensify in 2012. Michel Accad, CEO of Gulf Bank, assesses the competition and the competitive edge of Gulf Bank.

Accad argues that while certain segments of the market will face increased competition, not all of the banks have the same focus. “Some market players are focusing on improving their profitability, some are working on their international expansion and others are trying to improve their local market share,” Accad says.
