Buzeki: Providing Bulk Cargo Handling Services to Cement Companies in Kenya

Kiprop Bundotich, Group Executive Director and Founder of Buzeki Enterprises, gives an overview of the group. Buzeki was founded in 1999 with a view to provide a wide range of transport services in Kenya and the larger East and Central Africa regions.

“We literally started with one truck, in a diversification of the milk distribution business. We have grown because we had a strategic plan to get high-valued contracts from blue chip companies. Therefore, we walked with one of the best cement manufacturing companies, Lafarge, which is a global brand. That gave us the foundation we needed and provided us a springboard to scale to higher heights. Over the years, we have grown to a fleet of 400 trucks. We have also been able to diversify, to manage risk and create enough latitude for growth. So we deal predominantly with the cement sub-sector, offering our services to four cement companies in Kenya”, says Kiprop Bundotich.
