Island Life in Fernando de Noronha
Brazil Travel Tips: Island Life in Fernando de Noronha
Visit Fernando de Noronha and discover a true island paradise.
Nestled in the Atlantic Ocean with half its beaches facing Brazil and the other half facing Africa, Fernando de Noronha is a true island paradise that can be enjoyed by lovers, honeymooners, surfers, divers, families, and idlers alike.
Its crystal-clear, turquoise waters full of giant turtles and friendly dolphins offer great diving opportunities and it´s the perfect place to do an Open Water or Advanced PADI diving course, and if you want to surf the warm water means you don´t need to wear a wetsuit, or if you´re feeling less energetic all you have to do is decide which of the island´s pristine beaches you´d like to relax on.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Fernando de Noronha is about 1 hour by plane from mainland Brazil and can be reached by flights from Recife in the State of Pernambuco or Natal in the State of Rio Grande do Norte.
A couple of other islands also well worth visiting are the more touristy Morro de São Paulo and the virgin Boipeba, both of which are in the State of Bahia and easily accessible from Salvador.
