Frederico Fleury Curado – Embraer

BACKGROUND:

Frederico Fleury Curado was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1961. He has a post graduation in Foreign Trade from FGV (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) and an International Executive MBA from USP, the University of São Paulo.

EMBRAER:

Frederico Fleury Curado has been the President and CEO of Embraer since 2007. The company designs, manufactures and sells aircraft and its parts for the commercial, defense and executive aviation sectors. It was founded by Ozires Silva in 1969 and is headquartered in São José dos Campos.

Mr. Curado began his career in 1984 as a manufacturing engineer at Pratt & Whitney Canada, working on behalf of Embraer. Before becoming President and CEO of the company, he served as Executive Vice President of Civil Aircraft, Executive Vice President of Airline Market, Executive Vice President for Planning and Organizational Development and Interim CFO, among other positions.

OTHER POSITIONS:

Mr. Curado became Vice Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce in July 2015. He is also the Chairman of the Brazilian Chapter of the Brazil-US Business Council, a member of Brazil’s National Council for Industrial Development, a board member of the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum and a board member at Transocean Ltd.

HONORARY TITLES:

Frederico Fleury Curado has been awarded the Medal of Aeronautical Merit by the Brazilian government and the Medal of Merit by the Brazilian Association of Military Engineering.

In 2012, he won the Tony Jannus Award which recognizes outstanding individual achievement in scheduled commercial aviation by airline executives, inventors, manufacturers and government leaders.
