Its business is based on a multiformat structure, allowing to meet a wide range of consumers’ needs and expectations in different regions and diverse social and economic classes, with a balance between supermarkets (Pão de Açúcar and Extra Supermercado), hypermarkets (Extra Hiper), stores of eletronic products and household appliances (Ponto Frio and Casas Bahia), proximity stores (Minimercado Extra and Minuto Pão de Açucar), cash-and-carry segment (Assaí), gas stations, drugstores and e-commerce operations. The company was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
