“The pharmaceutical industry in Egypt is very big. The local pharmaceutical industry covers 97% of consumption. Only 3% is covered by imports. “We are expanding geographically with new branches all over Egypt. We now have branches in about 5 cities from the Delta up to Upper Egypt. We have more than 250 outlets, part of them is owned by PACHIN and most of them are franchises,” says Eng. Mohey Abdel Rezek, Managing Director of PACHIN.
“Coca-Cola has been playing a major role in Egypt for over 70 years. We entered the local market in 1942. We are very committed to the Egyptian market and we have been investing heavily in it,” says Omar Mandour, General Manager of Coca-Cola Egypt, Yemen, Libya and South Sudan.
“The last three years in particular have witnessed lots of changes and trends. Not only in the food and beverage market but also in the fast moving consumer goods market. We are starting to see trends that are very much cued towards value,” says Omar Mandour, GM of Coca-Cola Egypt, Yemen, Libya and South Sudan.
“Our biggest project here in Egypt is our partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank and our pledge to develop the hundred poorest villages in Egypt. We also have a project that is focused on improving the lives of 4,000 women and their families in these villages which provides microbusinesses to women in rural areas,” explains Omar Mandour, GM of Coca-Cola Egypt, Yemen, Libya and South Sudan.
