Manama, Bahrain: Batelco, the leading telecom in Bahrain and one of the foremost philanthropic companies in the Kingdom, has announced its silver sponsorship of the annual Think Pink Bahrain Gala Ball, which will take place 28 October at the Gulf Hotel Convention Centre. Batelco will also provide a number of raffle prizes to support the worthy cause which is taking place for the 7th year to raise funds for Breast Cancer initiatives.

“Batelco is proud and delighted to support the Think Pink team and help them achieve their noble goals of raising awareness and funds for breast cancer initiatives…”

Batelco Public Relations Manager – Osama Alsaad – presented a sponsorship cheque to Think Pink Bahrain Representative Anita Ghavami at a meeting held at Batelco Hamala Headquarters this week.

Batelco Group General Manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi said that Batelco was delighted to support such a dedicated organisation as Think Pink Bahrain. “Batelco is proud and delighted to support the Think Pink team and help them achieve their noble goals of raising awareness and funds for breast cancer initiatives. The Think Pink sponsorship forms a key part of Batelco’s contribution to health programmes which aim to improve the lives of all citizens of Bahrain,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the charity, Founding Member, Ms. Ghavami said, “As a Bahrain based charity, it is important to us that we collaborate with local companies each year.” “We thank Batelco for coming on board as a corporate sponsor for our 2011 campaign and we look forward to further collaborations in the future.”

Among Think Pink Bahrain’s goals is the purchase of a world-class Digital MRI machine which is recognised as the best equipment available for the early detection of breast cancer. As the statistics are alarming with an increasing number of young women and also men being diagnosed in Bahrain, getting this crucial diagnostic tool in place sooner rather than later is considered of major importance.
