Annastacia Kerich Kimtai – Managing Director & CEO, KCB Bank Kenya

Annastacia Kimtai is a distinguished Kenyan banker and the first to hold the dedicated post of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at KCB Bank Kenya, the leading Kenyan subsidiary of the KCB Group.

Her journey began in 1998 as a graduate Management Trainee in Mombasa. She steadily climbed the ranks—becoming Branch Manager in 2004 and Regional Business Manager for the Coast region by 2009. In 2011, she stepped into the strategic role of Retail Banking Director, overseeing an expansive network of over 200 branches.

In April 2023, she was appointed Managing Director and CEO of KCB Bank Kenya, marking the first time the bank was led separately from the Group CEO—aligning with regulatory corporate‑governance reforms.

Annastacia boasts an impressive academic and executive development background: a BA in Economics, Rural Banking & Community Development and an MA in Rural Economics & Cooperation from Agra University, India; an MBA in Strategic Management; executive programs at Harvard Business School’s Senior Executive Program for Africa; Global Executive Development at GIBS; and certification as an Executive Coach (AOEC).

She sits on several governance bodies, including the Boards of KCB Bank Kenya, KCB Foundation, and the Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company. She also serves on multiple board committees—Credit, Strategy & Digital, and Audit—demonstrating a deep commitment to strong governance .

A passionate advocate for inclusive banking, Annastacia has driven financial inclusion programs targeting underserved customers and championed the Female‑Led and Made Enterprises (FLME) initiative to enhance women’s participation in business. She also played a key role in managing the sensitive receivership transitions of Chase Bank and Imperial Bank—showcasing her leadership in crisis turnaround situations.
