The sector is regulated by the Bank of Ghana, which is headed by the Central Bank Governor, Dr Ernest Kwamina Yedu Addison, who was appointed by Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the end of March 2017. The Bank of Ghana is self-governed by a set of regulations issued by the Ghana Association of Bankers, the umbrella body of banks in the country.
