Kasapreko History
The company was founded in 1989 in Nungua, a suburb of Accra, in response to the growing demand for good-quality alcoholic drinks that were still within the means of the average Ghanaian.
Kasapreko’s vision differed from that of other alcoholic drink manufacturers in the country; it identified the increasing sophistication of the consumer. High expectations in terms of taste, quality, safety and packaging meant that the Ghanaian consumer was spending more on foreign imports that met their aspirations. This was the mass niche that Kasapreko Company set out to serve.
Kasapreko rapidly ascended to the leadership position in the Gin market with their “Kasapreko Dry Gin,” which became the gin of choice for consumers.
Kasapreko Company was the first of the local manufacturers to establish a modern quality control and product development laboratory and the first to introduce their own proprietary bespoke bottles and caps. Kasapreko was also responsible for the conceptualization, research, design and development of the first scientifically formulated, herbal-based alcoholic beverage in Ghana – Alomo Bitters – which quickly became the company’s flagship product.

Alomo Bitters is a herbal alcoholic product made from carefully chosen tropical plant extracts and very well-known for its proven medicinal values.
It has its roots in the traditional herbal industry that is meticulously researched by the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine, a World Health Organization affiliate based at Mampong Akuapem in the Eastern region of Ghana.

In order to maintain consistency, we source raw materials from the following agency: natural cocoa from Cocoa Processing Company Limited.
The main objectives of introducing Cocoa Liquer were:
• To satisfy the niche market of low alcohol consumers,
• To be innovative by introducing the first cocoa-based alcoholic beverage,
• To keep up with the government’s objective of adding value to Ghanaian Agro-products.
It is worthy to note that R&D unit of Kasapreko worked closely with the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine on formulating of the product’s unique recipe.

“With the big investment in plant machinery, Kasapreko is now positioned to meet the increasing growth in demand outside Ghana. Led by its flagship brand Alomo Bitters, the Nigerian market contributes largely to the company’s volumes which has lead to the set up of a country office and investment into warehousing facility. Kasapreko also exports to other West African countries such as Liberia, Togo and through our distributors, Alomo Bitters, as a popular brand are available in Burkina Faso, Benin, Sierra-Leone and other West African countries. Where you find Ghanaian and Nigerian communities in any country, one can find Alomo Bitters.
Kasapreko is also in the process of finalizing distribution agreement through a third party distributor in South Africa. Exploratory discussions are ongoing in other parts of South and Eastern Africa. i.e. Angola, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Tanzania. The prospects for the business are high and Kasapreko’s quest within the next five years is to penetrate markets across Europe, Americas and Asia with its unique, high-quality herbal-based products.”
