The most attractive investments in Ethiopia: Agriculture, leather and textiles
“The agribusiness is a top priority for the public sector as well as the leather and textile industries,” said Getachew Regassa, Secretary General of Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce.
When asked which sectors in Ethiopia hide the most attractive investment opportunities, Getachew Regassa from Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce recommended the following:
“The agribusiness is a top priority for the public sector as well as the leather and textile industries. The metal industry, the energy sector and pharmaceuticals are all open to investments. However I think the most attractive sector is the agriculture.”
The country has many advantageous factors such as the vast arable land and the population itself. Moreover, Ethiopia has a very strategic geographical location. “It is high time for investors to come in and cherish the huge public incentives that encourage foreign direct investment and thus tap in on the opportunities that are available here,” adds Regassa.
