Seth Quaye on Building MAC Partners: Local Content, Engineering Excellence, and Mining Innovation
In this part of the interview with Seth Quaye, the CEO of MAC Partners, he offers a detailed overview of the company’s core business structure and its growing role in Ghana’s mining and engineering sector. Founded in 2014, MAC Partners Limited has evolved into a diversified group with four key areas of specialisation: aftermarket support for mining equipment, engineering and construction services (EPC), technical training for the mining industry, and local manufacturing of mining consumables.
The company provides essential mine support services across Ghana and West Africa, supplying alternative spare parts, maintenance solutions, and full-scale engineering design and implementation. Their services range from concept development to project execution, with an emphasis on client collaboration and problem-solving.
In 2021, MAC Partners expanded its training capabilities by acquiring the former AngloGold engineering training school in Obuasi, now operating as the MAC Partners Training Institute, focusing on upskilling talent for the mining and industrial sectors. By 2023, the company launched a local manufacturing plant for epoxy products and mill lining solutions, leveraging Ghanaian raw materials—an effort tied directly to its local content advocacy.
Through these initiatives, MAC Partners stands out as a forward-thinking, Ghana-based EPC contractor, actively reshaping how mining support and engineering excellence are delivered across the region.
