Interview with Saad Chughtai, Director of Business Development and Salaar Chughtai, Director of Production and Product Development at Chughtaiz (Pvt) Ltd.
Saad Chughtai: My name is Saad Chughtai. I am the Director of Business Development at Chughtaiz. Chughtaiz is a luxury kitchen brand from Pakistan. We deal in the luxury segment and we are the fastest growing company in the industry. We are already exporting in North America and now, we are targeting to get into the Saudi market.
Salaar Chughtai: My name is Salaar Chughtai and I am the Director of Production and Product Development at Chughtaiz. I look after manufacturing, new products, and all the designing and development as well. We are really excited to be entering the Saudi market and we have some really interesting products to show at Saudi Build 2022.
What products or services do you offer that are unique to your company that you can bring to the Saudi market?
Saad Chughtai: Our brand is very design centric and we pay a lot of attention to detail. We have a very big design team in the company. We are focusing on luxury kitchens and luxury segments. I strongly believe that there is a big vacuum here. Saudis love quality and they have the buying power as well to afford quality. But, I see a gap of providing luxury products, especially when it comes to kitchen, wardrobes, and doors. So, we are trying to provide those solutions at a very affordable price.
Salaar Chughtai: We also offer unique products like scratch proof engineered doors that offer exceptional strength, stability, and durability. If you want to bring a giraffe into the house, we have you covered.
Why did you decide to come into the Saudi market specifically and be present at Saudi Build 2022 this year? Was there a specific impetus to this timing? Why are you here today?
Saad Chughtai: The Vision 2030 was really something that was pushing us, as well as how the Saudi market is growing. Then, we did a very detailed research study on the Saudi market and we saw that there is a big gap for a luxury brand in Saudi Arabia. That is when we decided to come to Saudi Build and we really think this is the right time to enter the market here.
Salaar Chughtai: There is a supply crunch here and there is a big need for our services and products. Vision 2030 is the driving force that brought us here and we see an opportunity for an exponential growth of our business. We are really looking forward to it.
What sort of challenges have you run into in the sector or in trying to come into Saudi that you have been able to overcome and how did you overcome them?
Saad Chughtai: The major challenge that we will be facing is to find the right partners in Saudi who value quality and who have the energy and are as energetic as the team at Chughtaiz in Pakistan and all over the world. We want to find someone who is as eager to grow as we are.
Salaar Chughtai: We can see, even from the first day, that we will definitely find a good partner, because we see a lot of potential here and people are appreciating the product. I can see a lot of people who have an eye for detail and they are understanding the value and what this product is actually worth.
Are you focusing more on residential, government, or other specific projects?
Saad Chughtai: We will be working in all types of projects, but our major focus is luxury residential and luxury real estate projects. Since we have our own manufacturing facility, we are open to experiment with different options.
