H.E. Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed

Al-Khalifa is currently Minister of Culture & Information. Prior to this position she has been assistant Undersecretary for Culture and National Heritage at the Ministry of Information
Furthermore, Sheikha Mai has been the recipient of the “Distinguished Arab Woman in the field of Administrative Leadership” prize from the Center of Woman Studies, Paris, and was also elected as one of the “50 Strongest Arab Women,” in a Forbes magazine survey.

Sheikha Mai has published a number of books and articles including:
Abdullah Bin Ahmad, Restless Fighter (The Arab Publication Establishment, 2002);
Charles Belgrave: Biography and Diary (The Arab Publication Establishment, 2000);
100 Years of Education in Bahrain, the Early Years of Establishment (The Arab Publication Establishment, 1999);
among others.

Sheikha Mai holds a Masters Degree in Political History from Sheffield University, UK.
