Ghana Commercial Bank: Informal Banking Sector and Opportunities

Simon Dornoo, Managing Director of Ghana Commercial Bank, talks about the informal banking sector, which represents a huge market opportunity for banks in Ghana, as the formal sector deals with only 3 to 4 million bank accounts. According to him, investments in technology are very important to reach these potential customers.

Mr. Dornoo also mentions some of his challenges and talks about the re-branding of Ghana Commercial Bank, the largest bank in Ghana, which grew from one branch in the 1950s to over 150 branches and 11 agencies throughout the country.
