West Africa’s leading producer of plastic pipe systems, Interplast, launched its ultra-modern manufacturing line and introduced another pacesetting irrigation product into the market. Announcing these two developments through a press release in Accra, Mr. Hayssam Fakhry, the company’s Managing Director, said the product called Ingreen, is an automatic Irrigation System that has come to take farming to another productive level.
“Drip irrigation is the application of irrigation water to the roots of the plants by the use of drippers using low volumes of water, Mr. Fakhry said. “Drip systems also ensure very little water is lost through evaporation, and their low flow allows large areas to be watered from the available water supply,” Interplast’s Managing Director further explained.
Drip irrigation technology, varying its application, can be a simple mechanism where farmers connect the irrigation network to water, and can also be very advanced where irrigation managers can operate multiple irrigation systems from their office and receive automatically generated reports and alerts on their mobile phones or tablets.
“Interplast currently provides solutions for irrigation systems for small, medium and large farms, with drip or sprinkler systems, in addition to a wide range of complimentary products,” Mr. Fakhry was quoted as saying. “Our systems assist farmers throughout the year leading to higher yields to secure better profits.”
Interplast’s factory is equipped with the most modern machinery available, using up to date technology, quality raw materials and current standards to produce uPVC & HDPE pipe solutions.
The factory, located on the Spintex Road, is equipped with technically advanced extrusion machinery available today to meet demands on short term notice from 12mm to 1,200 mm outside diameter.
“To ensure that we meet our value of quality products and services to our customer, Interplast has established strong contractual relationships with our suppliers, customers and transporters,” Mr. Fakhry assures.
Ingreen drip coils have inline drippers with standard spacing 20, 30 or 40cm. These spacings are done automatically and accurately by advanced machines to match the various requirements of farmers.
The company is not only involved in the manufacturing of pipes but also produces uPVC Windows and Doors re-enforced with galvanized steel, IR Clip, Warning and Barrier Mesh, Garden Hose In, Isorange Trunking, Terrazzo Divider Strip, PVC ceiling panels, and now Ingreen, an automatic Irrigation System.
Interplast remains the largest manufacturer of uPVC and HDPE pipes in West Africa, exporting to over 21 West and Central African countries.
