B5 Plus Limited Supports Ghanaian Families Affected by Flooding with Relief Donation

B5 Plus Limited has reinforced its commitment to communities across Ghana by donating essential food, shelter and sanitation supplies to families displaced by recent flooding.

ACCRA, Ghana. B5 Plus Limited, one of Ghana’s leading integrated steel manufacturers and traders, has donated a substantial consignment of essential relief items to support families affected and displaced by recent floods across the country.

The donation was formally presented at Jubilee House in Accra as part of efforts to assist affected communities and provide immediate support to households facing the difficult task of recovering from the impact of the floods.

Recognising the range of challenges families face following such disasters, B5 Plus provided supplies covering food, shelter, sanitation, health protection and the particular needs of mothers and young children.

The donated items included bags of rice and maize, cooking oil, packaged drinking water and cartons of sardines to help meet immediate food requirements. Blankets and jerry cans were also supplied to provide basic comfort and facilitate the safe storage of water.

With stagnant water following flooding increasing exposure to mosquitoes and the risk of malaria, the company included mosquito nets among the relief supplies. Wellington boots and raincoats were also provided to assist people returning to homes and communities that remain wet or waterlogged.

Particular consideration was given to families with infants, with B5 Plus donating baby food and diapers to support mothers caring for young children under challenging conditions.

Presidency Acknowledges B5 Plus Contribution

The relief items were received on 22 July 2026, with the quantities confirmed in full. The supplies are being channelled through the appropriate state institutions for distribution to communities affected by the floods.

Following the donation, the Office of the President formally expressed its appreciation to B5 Plus Limited.

In a letter signed by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, PhD, the Presidency described the company’s contribution as reflecting “a commendable commitment to the welfare of the Ghanaian people” and acknowledged its value in supporting the Government’s ongoing relief efforts.

The Presidency also expressed its willingness to continue working with B5 Plus on national development and humanitarian initiatives.

“Ghana Is Our Home”

For B5 Plus Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mr Mukesh Thakwani, the decision to provide assistance reflects the company’s longstanding relationship with Ghana and its belief that businesses have a responsibility to support the communities in which they operate.

“Ghana is our home. When families here lose everything to floodwaters, it is our neighbours and our workers who are affected,” said Mr Thakwani. “We did not wait to be asked, and B5 Plus will continue to stand with Ghana in moments like this.”
