“The pharmaceutical industry in Egypt is very big. The local pharmaceutical industry covers 97% of consumption. Only 3% is covered by imports. Our industry has got about 30-35 thousand labourers,” explains Dr. A. Borhan El-Din Ismail, Chairman and Executive Director of EIPICO (Egyptian International Pharmaceutical Industries Company).
“In 1995, I was number one in the Middle East and because of that I have to go abroad to prove that I am number one here and there. My name in the Middle East is very well known,” explains Dr. A. “PACHIN is one of the oldest companies manufacturing paints in Egypt & started its operations in 1958. We are now manufacturing all types of paints from decorative to industrial paints, in addition to printing ink,” says Eng. Mohey Abdel Rezek, Managing Director of PACHIN.
“SCIB Paints is the number two player in the Decorative coatings industry in Egypt which comprises architectural coatings and wood coatings,” explains Manish Mehra, Regional Head – Middle East and Egypt of Asian Paints (SCIB Paints).
“We are building some premium brands like Royale in the Luxury Emulsions’ category, where we are the market leaders in Egypt,” says Manish Mehra, Regional Head – Middle East and Egypt of Asian Paints (SCIB Paints).
“If you picture Egyptian Tourism as a body, it stands on two feet. One foot is the cultural product, Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel. That is our history, our heritage. The other product is the Sun and Sea vacations in the Red Sea area in the southern Sinai, like Sharm el Sheik, Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba,” explains Hisham Zaazou, Egypt’s former Minister of Tourism.
“We didn’t do very well in the first half of 2014 either. In the second half, starting from July up to now, we are moving very well,” says Hisham Zaazou, Egypt’s former Minister of Tourism.
“We are expanding geographically with new branches all over Egypt. We now have branches in about 5 cities from the Delta up to Upper Egypt. We have more than 250 outlets, part of them is owned by PACHIN and most of them are franchises,” says Eng. Mohey Abdel Rezek, Managing Director of PACHIN.
“MICE tourism is very important and the returns of the MICE tourism are very high. Unfortunately, during the last three years, there was a setback,” says Ambassador Nasser Hamdy, Former Chairman of Egyptian Tourism Authority.
