Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay Appointed as First Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University
The Governing Council of Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) has announced the appointment of Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay as its first Chancellor. His tenure, which begins on October 1, 2024, will span five years, concluding on September 30, 2029.
Dr. Orleans-Lindsay brings a wealth of entrepreneurial and academic experience to the role. He is the CEO of JL Properties and Executive Chairman of JL Holdings, with diverse business interests across real estate, agriculture, and other sectors. A celebrated entrepreneur, he has earned numerous accolades for his innovative leadership and societal contributions.
Beyond his business ventures, Dr. Orleans-Lindsay serves on the Board of Governors at All Nations University and is known for his dedication to fostering impactful change.
Academic and Professional Background
Dr. Orleans-Lindsay’s educational journey began at St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School in Nkwatia. He later completed his A-Level studies at St. Augustine’s College, Cape Coast, before pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biochemistry at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
He holds a Master of Science in Construction Management from the University of Salford and a Ph.D. in the same field from the University of Hertfordshire. Further enhancing his expertise, he completed a certification in Real Estates Finance at the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2022.
In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Orleans-Lindsay holds a CAF Coaching Certificate and has delivered a TEDx talk, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to personal and professional growth.
Contributions and Leadership
A prominent business leader in Ghana and beyond, Dr. Orleans-Lindsay has established thriving enterprises in countries such as Portugal, Malta, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and the Ivory Coast. His ventures span multiple industries, including construction, beverages, agriculture, and aquaculture, employing hundreds of individuals.
He is a former president of the Ghana Association of Young Entrepreneurs and has served on the board of Accra Hearts of Oak Football Club. Dr. Orleans-Lindsay has also played a significant role in youth development, notably as Chief Patron for the Cape Coast Youth Development Association.
