Interview with Lizete Inalda Dulobo, Client Manager at World Despachos
Could you tell us about your new partnership with Turkish Airlines?
Currently, we are doing the clearance of their goods and dispatching them to their clients. We also take care of the issuance of tickets and luggage, since they had no partner in Mozambique who could do this for them before us.
Turkish Airlines is not the only airline you work with. Can you tell us a little bit about your partnership with Qatar Airways?
We can take care of anything, from small shipments such as clothing, food, medicine, perishable goods, etc., to huge ones such as planes, bulldozers, etc.
We started working with them in 2013, taking care of luggage and passengers. Basically we took the luggage’s and we delivered them directly to the clients doors. This allowed people to spend less time at the airport for they wouldn’t have to wait for the luggage as they knew it would be delivered at their houses soon after. We took care of lost and found, so there was no need for a passenger to complain about such matter. If there was a lost baggage, we were already taking care of it because we were in charge of its delivery. We did that for over a year. As of now, we exclusively do the clearance of all their shipments.
Does this mean that there might exist other partners for whom you could do the same?
Of course, and we would like that! We want to grow and we already have the experience, so it should be easy.
You also work with one of the market leaders in the logistics industry: DHL.
Yes, have been working with them for 3 years now. We clear all their goods and we have a big monthly volume of around 500 shipments to be cleared. So it has been a good partnership so far.
Could you also tell us about your partnership with Aramex?
Aramex is another leading global provider of logistics and transportation solutions. They deal with courrier shipments and they asked us for help with these shipments, as well as the deliverance of goods door-to-door.
Why do you think World Despachos is a good partner for foreign companies placed in Mozambique?
First of all, because we work 24/7, so we are always available. Besides, we have an agency directly at the airport, which is a big advantage for us and the clients. We promise to deliver quickly and with the proper quality, and we do it. For example, we have a client which is a private hospital called Orbit. They deal with human eyes so their shipment cannot stay at the warehouse, because they are needed in emergencies. Sometimes, they arrive during the weekends or holidays, but in any case we dispatch those products as soon as they touch the ground.
We can take care of any type of shipment, from small shipments such as clothing, food, medicine, perishable goods, etc., to huge ones such as planes, bulldozers, etc.
So basically, we are always reachable and we are quick upon clearance and delivery. Moreover we can ship and deliver anything everywhere.
What is your vision for the company in 2/3 years’ time?
Well, I would like to be able to call World Despachos the number one company in this field. I hope to continue making clients happy, and hopefully find bigger headquarters. I would also like to see World Despachos reach an international level, because many times, when we deliver goods internationally, we depend on other companies and we do not know if they are taking good care of such goods. So if we had agencies abroad, we wouldn’t need help delivering.
Where would you like to open branch offices?
All over really: China, Portugal, South Africa or Angola. I’m sure those would be as good as home.
