Hien Sié, the Managing Director of the Port of Abidjan (Port Autonome d’Abidjan), is a prominent business figure in Ivory Coast. He was ranked as Marcopolis’ #10 most powerful business leader in the country.

Hien Sié began his career at the engineering company Franzetti in 1992. Since Alassane Ouattara took up his position as President of Ivory Coast, Hien Sié was appointed as the new Managing Director of the vital national asset. The port is located at the crossroads of a major shipping route from Europe, Asia and America. This location mixed with the modern logistics of the commercial port allows the Port of Abidjan to represent 90% of all trade in Ivory Coast. Despite the turmoil and instability in the past decade, this port continues to increase its traffic and exports. To accommodate the growing export and trade sector of Ivory Coast, the port is divided into many ports. The Old Port is designated as the fruit and wood terminal. Zone warehouses are composed of shops and other activities designated to trade. The fishing port includes cold stores and all fishery-related activities. La Digue Vridi warehouse consists of storage stores and agricultural products. The Naval Industry Zone Vridi is for all naval activities. Lastly, the Vridi Industrial Area is for chemical and petrochemical industrial products, and also for housing and tourism. Hien Sié is dedicated to making it the largest African hub port and one that is center of all trade and economic growth.
