How Jonmoore International Built a Regional Leadership Position in Transport and Project Logistics
In this section of the interview, Hilton John Mitchell, CEO of Jonmoore International, reflects on the company’s evolution, regional footprint and service offering. He explains that Jonmoore, founded in 1998, has grown into a trusted transport and project logistics solutions provider with a strong presence across both Francophone and Anglophone West Africa, including Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Liberia and Senegal.
He highlights that the company’s greatest strength lies in its people, many of whom have been with the organisation for over two decades, contributing to a culture of loyalty, continuity and technical expertise. Mitchell also outlines Jonmoore International’s comprehensive service portfolio, which today extends far beyond transportation. The company delivers end-to-end logistics solutions, including road freight, air freight, air charters, vessel charters, relief transport and specialised transport operations. Heavy lifting has become one of its key capabilities, supported by a fleet of cranes ranging from 80 to 450 tonnes and forklifts operating in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, serving critical industries such as mining and oil and gas.
Addressing competition in Ghana and the wider region, Mitchell explains that Jonmoore distinguishes itself through innovation, strict adherence to safety and a commitment to delivering the right solutions within clients’ budgets. Rather than pursuing a large volume of clients, the company focuses on building long-standing partnerships based on trust, safety and reliability.
When discussing industry trends and challenges, he emphasises the importance of continuous improvement in human resources management. Ongoing training remains essential as the company strives to stay ahead of evolving industry standards. He also notes that future opportunities in logistics will be shaped by regional developments in mining, hydrocarbons, oil and gas, natural resources and power generation, as Jonmoore positions itself to support these major projects across the sub-region.
