Razak, who is the youngest of five sons, comes from a family of highly successful people. His brother, Najib Razak, is the current prime minister of Malaysia. His father, Tun Abdul Razak, who died in 1976, was Malaysia’s second prime minister.
Razak studied at the University of Bristol, where he met his wife, Azlina, who is the daughter of the former governor of Bank Negara Malaysia. While there, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Politics, then went on to earn his Masters of Philosophy in Development Economics from the University of Cambridge.
After returning to Malaysia, Razak joined the corporate world at Commerce International Merchant Bankers (CIMB), where he grew to become the company’s Managing Director and CEO.
