Lizete Inalda Dulobo, Client Manager at World Despachos, gives an overview of the company. World is a Mozambican dispatch agency specialized in customs, imports and exports.

“We are a dispatch agent, which means that we deal with customs and handle imports and exports. We manage all the cargo coming both in and out of Mozambique. When your cargo comes from outside, we call that an import cargo to Mozambique. We deal with all the issues that you have to go through, such as customs clearance, duties to pay, warehouses, etc. We handle the MCNet (Mozambique Community Network), we put all the documentation through, and we ask you to pay the resulting duties. Then you can pay if you are able to, or we agree that World Despachos will pay in advance and that you will pay us later. So we handle the whole customs process”, says Lizete Inalda Nhantumbo.

“Most of the companies in Mozambique do not pay the duties on behalf of the clients. In fact, we can safely say that we are the only company that does. What happens with other companies is that when the shipment comes, they give the quotation to their clients. So the company won’t cover payment on their behalf. We do not follow this model. As long as we have an agreement with you, and you agree to pay what is due, you can still go ahead. We pay for everything and we will leave the shipment at your door if that is what you request. Another big advantage is the fact that we are located at the airport. All the cargo ends here at the airport, and because we are the first on the scene, we never have to wait until tomorrow. When the plane arrives we obviously know right there and then whether your cargo has arrived or not, and we can notify you accordingly. If it has not arrived we just let you know that we will see it safely onto the next flight. The other agents, by contrast, have to travel to the airport to find all of this information”, she adds.
