We revisited our strategic direction last year, in using our platform and experience in Egypt to expand to other countries; our original vision was to be the preferred partner for transaction processing.
“We are the safe haven for large depositors. AIB is considered the private bank for high net worth individuals inside Egypt,” says Amr Atallah, GM for Branches and Banking Services at AIB.
“Slowly but surely we are going to start to see more positive results. I expect to see this happen quickly on a regional level, i.e. from the GCC market and then later on from the international market, i.e. Europe and the Americas,” comments Mahmoud ElKeiy, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence.
Capstone Investment Group was established in 2010, with a focus on multi-use high-end real estate development. The company concentrates on particular areas in Lebanon, specifically in Beirut. In the last five years, Capstone has completed three projects so far, and have plans for continued growth.
“The latest figures show that the average spending per person, that went down from USD 85 per night to USD 62 until very recently, has slowly climbed back to about USD 80 per person, per night. We are almost back there. Looking forward to 2015, (I am knocking on wood), if we move the way we are moving, we will be back to normal by the end of the year. In 2016, we foresee a higher level of business for Egypt.”
“Coca-Cola has been playing a major role in Egypt for over 70 years. We entered the local market in 1942. We are very committed to the Egyptian market and we have been investing heavily in it,” says Omar Mandour, General Manager of Coca-Cola Egypt, Yemen, Libya and South Sudan.
“The last three years in particular have witnessed lots of changes and trends. Not only in the food and beverage market but also in the fast moving consumer goods market. “Our biggest project here in Egypt is our partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank and our pledge to develop the hundred poorest villages in Egypt. We also have a project that is focused on improving the lives of 4,000 women and their families in these villages which provides microbusinesses to women in rural areas,” explains Omar Mandour, GM of Coca-Cola Egypt, Yemen, Libya and South Sudan.
“We are in the LPG field and we have six factories in Egypt for filling cylinders of LPG. Our production now is almost between 150,000 – 200,000 bottles per day.”
“The printing industry all over the world has been affected because of the media. However, the packaging industry is still active all over. In Egypt, the potential in the packaging industry is very big.”
