Ethiopia ranks 7th out of all African countries in terms of the ease of doing business. What kind of incentives does the country offer to foreign investors and which sectors are the most attractive for FDI?
“We have the warehouses and we have the facilities to supply the coffee on time at the best quality and competitive prices. All of these factors make us one of the leading coffee exporters in Ethiopia,” explains Belayneh Mesenbet, Deputy Manager of Aleta Land Coffee.
Ever since its inception Aleta Land Coffee has been exporting organic coffee from Ethiopia to many parts of the world, including the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia (Japan).
Wednesday the 12th February was a special day for employees of Caixa Constructions. Close to 50 employees participated for the first time in the Health Blitz that took place in the company headquarters, in partnership with Sesi-MT.
Baraton Trade wants to primarily focus on building infrastructure before they start thinking about entering the mining industry in Ethiopia.
“We started 6 years ago with a capital of roughly 500,000 US dollars,” says Aboma Taye, managing director of Baraton Trade. The company has grown at least ten times that since then.
“When I started Flintstone in 1991, there was a change of government in Ethiopia from a military government and it was a whole different market for construction,” recalls Tsedeke Yihune, owner of Flintstone Engineering.
“Flintstone has been in the business of engineering for construction for the last 22 years,” notes Tsedeke Yihune, owner of Flintstone Engineering. The company has only moved into the real estate sector about 5 years ago.
“In the next twenty years, there is a national goal of getting to be a middle income country. We want MIDROC to play the leading role when we reach that goal,” reveals Jemal Ahmed, Chairman of Horizon Company.
