Caixa Constructions celebrates a day dedicated to employee health

Mato Grosso, Brazil: Wednesday the 12th February was a special day for employees of Caixa Construções. Close to 50 employees participated for the first time in the Health Blitz that took place in the company headquarters, in partnership with Sesi-MT.

“We set up a medical circuit where we measured glycaemic indexes, cholesterol levels and blood pressure. We also gave out nutritional information and to follow on from this the employees are encouraged to attend a doctor’s appointment,” explained Marcelo Lew, the manager of the Mobile Health Unit run by Sesi.

In addition, over the following 6 working days the Odontology Mobile Unit will be open to all employees for them to consult with the on duty dentist, to receive oral health advice and fluoride application.

All the medical appointments began at 8am and were carried out simultaneously in order to make the process run smoothly and to guarantee that all the employees could be seen to. “Employees tend to end up treating healthcare as a low priority. The initiative of bringing the best possible structure for health and dental care to the work place helps to prevent illnesses,” highlighted Juliana França, a representative from Sesi.

Having worked for Caixa Constructions for 9 months in the Acquisitions department, Thalisson Timóteo Rodrigues Godoi, said that this was the first time he saw that a company was working for the well-being of its employees. “We normally neglect going to our regular medical appointments. This initiative is really good for all employees in and outside of this company,” he affirmed.

During the day employees were also given explanations and advice relating to the health plan that has been adopted by the company.

Inter-staff relations and image

Caixa Constructions made the most of this great opportunity to hold a talk by journalist and consultant, Andreia Sversut, who spoke to Caixa employees about work relations between colleagues and clients, the correct behaviour at work, the use of resources available at the company and punctuality among other things.

In addition, she also pointed out some rules regarding the personal appearance of each employee. “It is important to create a work environment with healthy relationships that increase productivity and professional achievements within Caixa Constructions,” declared the administration manager, Gelive Prado.
