Since its creation in 1997, the sector is led by mcel (Moçambique Celular / Mozambique Mobile).
Vodacom Mozambique is the second mobile operator in the country. The company started its operations in 2003 and is part of Vodacom International Limited.
As for Movitel, it has been awarded for developing innovative services in the field of telecommunications. The company also received recognition for excellence at the international level and became the first operator in Africa to win prestigious awards for 3 years in a row.
