Mamadou Konate, Chief Executive Officer of La Poste de Côte d’Ivoire, the company responsible for postal services in Ivory Coast, talks about the institution’s new ambitions and future plans.
“In addition to the mega projects we have tangible, well-studied sectorial industrial projects in several fields and sectors, including petrochemicals, the engineering sector, household goods, electrical equipment, white goods etc., that are for the domestic Egyptian market.”
“The announcement of the increase of SECON’s capital and the launching of these three projects simultaneously with Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) has a very important message to both local and international investors about the current atmosphere in Egypt.”
The field of logistics is now industrial. There are two important areas to improve: one being the state of the roads, and the other one being the customs regulations regarding new equipment that is more productive and secure. In my opinion these are the two main things that need to be addressed so that the transport and logistics sector can be more dynamic and for it to represent a larger percentage of the national GDP.
Stéphane Eholie, Chief Executive Officer of SIMAT, gives an overview of the logistics sector in Ivory Coast and mentions the remaining challenges to be faced.
“The pharmaceutical industry in Egypt is very big. The local pharmaceutical industry covers 97% of consumption. Only 3% is covered by imports. Our industry has got about 30-35 thousand labourers,” explains Dr. A. Borhan El-Din Ismail, Chairman and Executive Director of EIPICO (Egyptian International Pharmaceutical Industries Company).
“In 1995, I was number one in the Middle East and because of that I have to go abroad to prove that I am number one here and there. My name in the Middle East is very well known,” explains Dr. A. “PACHIN is one of the oldest companies manufacturing paints in Egypt & started its operations in 1958. We are now manufacturing all types of paints from decorative to industrial paints, in addition to printing ink,” says Eng. Mohey Abdel Rezek, Managing Director of PACHIN.
“SCIB Paints is the number two player in the Decorative coatings industry in Egypt which comprises architectural coatings and wood coatings,” explains Manish Mehra, Regional Head – Middle East and Egypt of Asian Paints (SCIB Paints).
