“When we came up with this idea, many people thought it was a joke because when people think of women and banking, they usually think in terms of micro-finance. But here, we wanted to change the narrative; we wanted to change the story about women and finance, and women and economic empowerment,” explains Meaza Ashenafi, the chairperson of Enat Bank.

Residence Suite Hotel reached full occupancy in four months after opening in May 2013.

“Our former Prime Minister Meles Zenawi planted within everybody the idea that everybody can be a winner and everybody can do what they want.
