Mohamed Assoweh Bouh

Director General, Djibouti Telecom
Mohamed Assoweh Bouh leads one of Djibouti’s most strategically important enterprises. As Director General of Djibouti Telecom, he oversees infrastructure that is increasingly central not merely to Djibouti’s domestic economy but to digital connectivity across East Africa.
Djibouti Telecom describes its international infrastructure as comprising 13 submarine cable systems, ten operational and three under construction, connecting some 90 countries. The company is positioning Djibouti as a connectivity gateway between Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
Under Bouh, the company has continued regional expansion. Djibouti Telecom strengthened its partnership with Ethio Telecom in 2025 and in February 2026 signed a strategic agreement with Ethio Telecom and Sudatel under the HORIZON fibre initiative.
Current business influence: Telecommunications, submarine cables, data infrastructure, connectivity, digital services and regional fibre networks.
