Doing business in Libya: General business outlook
Part of the Libyan business picture involves—among others—abound investments, with the state-owned Libya Africa Investment Portfolio (LAP) having an estimated $5 billion in assets, thought the fair value amount is still being estimated.
The Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations was set up in 1947 to create and foster an environment, in which businesses in Addis Ababa can develop and grow at a much faster pace. The Addis Chamber is the most active chamber in the country and currently has over 15,000 members.
“We at 3M are confident about 2014. Not only about Morocco but also for the francophone African zone because apart from Morocco we cover twenty countries in francophone Africa and some countries that are anglophone and others that are lusophone,” says Mohamed Zied Sghaier, Director General of 3M Morocco.

The general manager of Intercontinental Addis Hotel claims that the hotel could serve as a role model for other hotels and their hotel managers in Addis Ababa.
There are 9 historical sites in Ethiopia that are registered as UNESCO heritage.
“Last year we welcome about 650,000 visitors, which is a 12% increase as opposed to the previous year. Our plan is to attract around 1 million tourists per year. We aim to earn around 3 billion USD from the tourism industry,” states the State Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ethiopia.
“In 2014 we are looking towards the new potential resource that is emerging in Ethiopia: potash,” notes H.E. Tolesa Shagi, the Minister of Mines of Ethiopia.
