Luxury real estate market in Brazil: Luxury finds its niche in Cuiabá
According to the ‘Luxo, Demografia e Estilo de Vida no Brasil’ (‘Luxury, Demographics and Lifestyle in Brazil’) report from the North American company Bain and Company, this market is increasing in Brazil by more than 20%.
Mato Grosso, Brazil: Together with the rest of the state of Mato Grosso, Cuiabá has been growing exponentially in the last ten years. According to data from Sinduscon/MT (Union of Civil Construction and Industry/Mato Grosso), with approximately 550 thousand inhabitants living in the capital, it is estimated that currently 15-20 thousand residential units are being built. Also according to Sinduscon, the Soccer World Cup construction has given Cuiabá’s growth a further push, which should generate three billion Reais (BRL) in investments related to public construction until 2014.

Keeping up with the region’s growth, which has drawn inspiration from more developed and organized locations in the country, the luxury market is starting to grow more and more. Even with building options for all kinds of clientele, the construction companies have also invested in combining luxury and leisure in Cuiabá, especially in the northern part of the city. Locations that were once considered far away are now considered privileged locations thanks to the expansion of bridges and avenues, which permit easy and rapid access.
More elite sports, such as golf and tennis, are one of the attractions in these buildings. At Forest Hill, a building that is being built by Caixa Construções on the Emanuel Pinheiro Highway, the leisure options are a differential. The project has squash courts, swimming pools for adults and children, a zen space, a fitness center, a sauna and a 350m jogging track.
Another building, Terra Selvagem Condomínio & Golf Club, is the only one with a professional golf course in Mato Grosso. The condominium consists of 700 thousand m² of green space, combined with a large sports and leisure complex and is located only 20 minutes from the city centre.
These two examples reserve even more luxury and comfort. At Forest Hill, the 441.5 m² apartments contain 60 meter verandas with a spa. There are five suites, where one is a master suite, four parking spaces in the garage, and indoor parking for visitors. At Terra Selvagem, the properties are on average 1,125 m².
