According to the Equity Markets October 2017 Review by Kuwait Finance and Investment Company (KFIC), GCC equities, as measured by the MSCI GCC IMI Index declined by -2.7% MTD. UAE’s DFM Index was the top performing regional index, followed by Abu Dhabi’s ADSM Index. Kuwait’s Weighted Index fell by -2.5% with negative performance coming from Consumer goods -9.2%, Telecom -7.9% and positive gains came from Oil & Gas +1.4%.

NBK Signs Cooperation Agreement with KFIC

According to the new cooperation agreement, NBK will issue prepaid card holders to customers who have undertaken a loan from KFIC.

Kuwait was upgraded by FTSE Russell to an emerging market status, which will become effective by September 2018. The upgrade could prompt cash inflows of approximately USD 700mn from foreign investors, according to NBK Capital.

According to the Equity Markets August 2017 Review by Kuwait Finance and Investment Company (KFIC), GCC equities, as indicated by the MSCI GCC IMI Index increased by 0.83%. Kuwait’s Weighted Index was the top performing regional index and Qatar’s QE index was the worst performing index.
