Adel has experience in both private and public sectors. He has held many prominent positions in his career, including Chairman of Al Jazeera Bank, the council of directors of the Saudi Arabian Glass Company, Sagco, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Savola Group. Many businessmen in the survey attributed Savola's success to him.
Furthermore, Adel has served as a member on the Board of Directors of several companies and organizations, including the Trade and Industrial Chamber of Commerce, Holy Mecca Provincial Council, the Supreme Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, Al Marai Group, the Hail Development Authority, and many others.
Adel has been involved in the government for many years. He was mayor of Jeddah for five years, then was appointed as the Minister of Labor, and became the Minister of Health four years later, a position he held for only a few months.
He studied at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, and earned his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in industrial engineering. Today, Adel is married to a leading businesswoman and social figure named Maha Fitaihi. Together, they have five children.
Adel was born in 1959 to a family famous for their involvement in the fields of finance and business. His family was known for their management of large-scape economic enterprises in Jeddah and Mecca. One can say he was born with business in his blood.
